China launches new satellite for mapping, land surveys

BEIJING, 31st December, 2025 (WAM) -- China on Tuesday launched a new satellite for geographic research purposes from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in the country's northwest.

The Tianhui-7 satellite, launched aboard a Long March-4B rocket, has entered its planned orbit, according to the centre.

It will be primarily used for tasks such as geographic mapping, land resource surveys, and scientific research.

This launch also marked the 622nd mission in the Long March rocket series.
