HUILI, June 6 (Xinhua) -- This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, the historic military maneuver in modern Chinese history.
Jiaopingdu, one of the major ferry crossings on the Jinsha River located on the border between Huili City of the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Sichuan Province and Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County of southwest China's Yunnan Province, is a strategic point renowned for the Red Army's crossing of the river in 1935.
Leveraging this revolutionary heritage, Jiaopingdu Village is building a modern tourism destination, which has been designated a national 3A-level tourist attraction, featuring a monument square, mural reliefs, and a revolutionary heritage study courtyard. In the past three years, both visitor numbers and tourism revenue in Huili City have increased by more than 30 percent.
