(250827) -- CHONGQING, Aug. 27, 2025 (Xinhua) -- An engineering vehicle is seen at the construction site of the Zhen'an tunnel of Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China, Aug. 27, 2025. The tunnel, located in Kaizhou District of Chongqing with a total length of 4,458 meters, was drilled through successfully on Wednesday. So far, 34 tunnels in the Kangyu section of the Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway have been completed, with the breakthrough progress reaching 47 percent.
The Kangyu section starts from Ankang West Station, passing through Ankang City in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Chengkou County in Chongqing, Dazhou and Guang'an cities in southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Hechuan and Beibei districts in Chongqing, before connecting to Chongqing West Station in the Chongqing railway hub.
