Apple unsure of Christmas music sales
Shanghai News.Net Wednesday 3rd December, 2008
Apple's iTunes web store is concerned this year’s Christmas will be much flatter.
While the digital music market usually gets a boost at Christmas in the form of iPod sales and the flow on to iTunes, analysts have predicted growth will be modest this year.
Sales of new iPods and downloadable iTunes gift cards are predicted to fall by about 15 percent from last year.
iTunes has been heavily promoting digital music as a gift idea this year, by allowing users to send gift cards through e-mail or directly buy songs as gifts that the recipient can download. Email this story to a friend
